Flowing Hair Half Dimes were minted for two years in 1794 and 1795. The United States Mint produced a total of 86,416 Flowing Hair Half Dimes over the two year period. Low grade examples can be located, but rare coin collectors will have to be patient locating higher grade examples.

The design was changed to the Draped Bust, Small Eagle Reverse Half Dime for 1796 and 1797. There are a number of varieties, however, only 10,230 1796 Draped Bust Half Dimes were minted and only 44,527 in 1797. From 1800 to 1805, the Draped Bust Design was changed to the Heraldic Eagle Reverse. United States Mint production isn't much higher during these year. Type coin collectors have a real challenge adding better Flowing Hair Half Dimes and Draped Bust Half Dimes to their collections.
